R.I.P. Dj Mehdi
Played on Tuesday 13 September 2011
Well, let’s get a bit personal this time.
I could say about the number of time I saw him performed, with the Ed Banger crew, or alongside Riton (under the name of Carte Blanche)….
I could speak about the sadness considering his talent, either in rap or in electronic…
I could speak about him and his relation with Fafie. or Kourtrajmé but what for?
Dj Mehdi, born Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, first gained notoriety in the hip hop scene alongside 113 (check “113 fout la merde” featuring Thomas “Daft Punk” Bangalter), Assassin, Ideal J or Mafia K’1 Fry (I always have the videoclip of “Pour Ceux” in my -dirty- mind)…
2002, “(The Story Of) Espion”.
2006, “Lucky Boy”.
Club 75 with Busy P, Cassius and Justice.
Ed Banger.
Fafi, his wife.
Carte Blanche, with Riton.
I had the chance to meet him few years ago. Someone charmin’, simple, smiling all along.
He died this morning, apparently falling from his mezzanine which collapsed… R.I.P. Mehdi. Hope u’re still smiling.
“We lost our brother. No words.” (from @Chromeo)
“I have no words. My heart is completely shattered. Not this.” (from @A-Trak)
